Art is Me

When I first started this canvas it was about me..... what am I? What do I stand for when it comes to my art. The answer........... Art is me. I am art and I am me. There are no guidelines to follow, there isn't a manual you have to read, there isn't any rules when it comes to art. ART is what you make it and what you feel....... so set yourself free and just create what is inside you.

The picture above is about freeing oneself from those rules

This is a flower I made using Tim Holtz's tattered flower die. I used smaller flowers for the center and a darker glimmer mist to give it that not so bloomed looked. The glimmer mist colors I used here were key lime and sweet clover.

I added in my new D-Vine by D-Zine Art Studio title that Rick came up with for me. This will hang on the door leading into my studio.

And whenever I go into the studio I will remember there are NO RULES and what I create is art because ART IS ME

gotta love restaurants with free wi- fi

At lunch now and since I had to work I wanted to share with everyone my new design studio so without further adieu......... Veronica's D-Vine by D-Zine Art Studio
My latest canvas will be on shortly

The Blind Side

Watched the movie tonight and cried like a baby. What a wonderful movie. With Rick's new toy ( huge tv) we have movies we can get from the internet and they are downloaded onto his new toy. Tonight it was the blind side with sandra bullock WOW...... I cried within the first five minutes of the movie and kept crying until the very end.
If you haven't seen the movie order it tonight!!!!!!!
Well worth the 2 hours and 8 minutes!

Altered Art Tag

Another vintage flower using Gloria's technique. I love the stamp and the color purple. This is for today's stamping at www.cropstop.com

The way you look tonight

I made this altered canvas for Patti. We do a swap of art every two months or so and this time it was Patti's turn to chose the topic. She chose Spring but since I was gone or working most of the time I totally missed srping and it just feels like summer now.
I tried a new technique I learned in making vintage glimmer mist flowers using Tim Holtz's tattered flower die.

Back to somewhat of a normal routine

Well, it looks like I finally am back to a normal routine. Two days off a week and back home from vacation.
Rick and I had an amazing time in Alaska and look forward to going to Europe in September. We will be going to Russia too.
Today I was able to make brownies to take to work tomorrow and even started on some art.

Seems like it has been forever since I have posted any art. I made these for cropstop to use in their booth at art shows. All are Tim Holtz inks and masks. ENJoy

It is back or should I say I am back with .....

One dollar Wednesday!!!! Due to the move and not having internet I was unable to post Patty's One dollar Wednesday art. So here you go make sure you go here to pick up your one buck digi sheet and while you are there make sure you check out all her new stuff!!

Well, I guess it is time

Man I hate to do this but when I went to my email yesterday I had 260 emails. They were all from here and some spammer so with that said I am going to have to do that id thingy and I hate to do it....... Sorry.....

At last I am in the new studio

Here are just a few pictures. This is some of my art, art that has been sent to me as well as my Audrey picture. Tons of paint, etc This is where my T.V. will go as soon as it gets here but for now I have a picture from 1875? an art class in Lakeland Florida from my dear friend Barbra Joan and my S.U. ink pads,
Here is Breakfast at Tiffany's as well as my paint holder. And below that table? Tons of stuff it took forever to go through it all today

Here is my new desk. pens, pencils etc
And this is all ATC stuff with cricut right below ( speaking of which cricut needs to make an ATC inspired cartridge) are you listening Cricut?

Here is all my glues, tattered angel ink sprays and of course my Tim Holtz stuff.

More glue than any one person would ever need...

This is boxes upon boxes of unmounted rubber stamps

And here even more boxes upon boxes of unmounted stamps

this is from the door entering into the studio

This is where I keep just stuff...lol

I have all stamping magazines back from 13 years ago. I would never dream of getting rid of them. lol

And tons of Stampin Up sets of wood mounted stamps, they are all on this and it is full. The canvas is blocking the majority of them but I have tons and some of these are 13-14 years old too. lol
Now you see Darcie wood mounted stamps of course they no longer make these and these are so cute ..

My flowers on top, boxes of cards to do and more stamps... but in the center is the letter that came with my amazing Breakfast at Tiffanys altered box.

I can't wait to get into the studio again. It has been almost a year since I have seen many of my supplies as most may remember we planned on moving last year this time and it didn't happen. This year here we are and I am loving the outer banks.

Breakfast AT Tiffany's Altered ART

OH MY GOD This arrived today from Patti.
The pictures are in the wrong order... but let's break this amazing piece down. The piece is an altered two sided box with legs. The outside piece oh my god perfection. The inside just nails it.
First here is Holly Golightly strumming her guitar on the fire escape.

And here is my favorite pose ever of Audrey Hepburn. Patti nailed it with her cigarello and the song Moon River. WOW
This is an actual movie reel. I mean I can't explain in words how amazing this piece is. You can see from the pictures how beautiful it is and this just doesn't do it total justice.

TA DA here it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean seriously this is just simply fantastic.

This piece will hold a place of honor in my studio in the new house right next to the amazing canvas Toni made me.
The art world is an amazing place....
Patti thank you so much for this...and again....thank you just isn't enough. I only hope you love your piece as much as I love mine.
I will post pics of my altered art project at a later date ( after Patti receives it)

Jewelryartdesigns.com

I received a request to evaluate some jewelry from http://www.jewelryartdesigns.com/ and post my honest thoughts. I asked Sarah to send me any piece she wanted but to make it the average price a customer would pay when visiting her site.

What I received today just blew me away.

Not only is the pearl beautiful but the setting and chain are of such a great quality.

Here is what the website says

White Gold Rhodium Bonded Pearl Pendant With a Pave Set Clear CZ Leaf Grasping a Tahitian Pearl in SilvertoneThe Leafed Tahitian Pearl Pendant is simple and classic but still unique. The silver tone leaf of pave CZ grasps a tropical tahitian pearl of beautiful colors. White Gold Rhodium Bond is achieved using an electroplating process that coats the item with heavy layers of rhodium, a close cousin of platinum that costs three times as much, which gives our jewelry a platinum luster.

I can't say enough how pleased I am not only with the pearl but the chain. The chain is not a light weight chain you would normally see on a necklace but a twisted heavy duty chain.

I would give Sarah a thumbs up and say you can't go wrong buying from Sarah at http://www.jewelryartdesigns.com/

So, run on over and check it out. This necklace is on sale for $65.00 and for a Tahitian Pearl that is a great price.

Thanks Sarah and I hope that everyone who reads this stops over to check out your site.

What am I doing you ask?

Well, right in the middle of packing, getting stuff ready to go I am doing a major altered art project. This just isn't an ATC, a canvas or anything like that...oh no.......

I have decided to go all out and I mean all out. Patti and I are doing an altered art exchange of our favorite movies. Well, of course everyone knows mine is Breakfast at Tiffanys but hers is The Wizard of Oz.

Now I could have and almost did go oh yellow brick road, lollipops, bright colors the whole nine yards...and I thought this would be awesome to do a canvas.

Nope didn't do that either....... my wonderful closet artist husband had some great ideas. So, off to ACMoore we went last night. I had already bought my main item I wanted to alter all I needed was some items from Rick's input.

$50.00 bucks later and I had just about everything to do this project. Today I started doing one of the AWESOME ideas Rick had for the base and two hours later I have 1/4 th of it done.

I had to take a break and back away from it before I pulled my hair out. Now that it is on my table behind me I can turn around and look at it and think..... he was so right this is perfect!!!!

As I work more and more on it and use some of his ideas this is going to be cool.
I hope Patti loves it as much as I love making it.

So, back to the project I go as soon as I get this splinter out from under my fingernail.
Happy Saturday everyone

What is $29.99 worth to you?

I am mad, upset, angry beyond words. BUYER BEWARE should be stamped on many websites. I bought a membership to an online source that ended up not being what I thought it was.
In the small print, and trust me there was a ton of it. It says we will charge you every month the first of the month $4.99 for your membership and you cannot cancel it until after six months.
WHAT seriously? are you kidding me? seriously? ( I totally missed that part when I placed my order ( reminder to self buy glasses and read the thing
So, I buy the membership on the 26th of the month and get charged again today for a website I didn't even SAVE!!!!!!
I sent three emails telling them to cancel my membership let's see now what happens.... they can charge me right away on my card but now on their website it says oh it may take 30 days to cancel and only after six months...yay okay right.
So, dear website if you have googled my name and found this site yes, it is you I am talking about and yes I am still very very angry that any website let alone a website for crafters would do this.... So what have I learned from this lesson?
I WILL NEVER EVER make an online purchase unless it is from on of the stores on my sidebar.
I am just hoping this website makes it right. I guess unless you know what you are doing you need to make sure you read the fine print.... lesson learned and it only cost me $29.99
So, for the hundreds of you that read this a day...... I just saved you $29.99
READ THE FINE PRINT..... and now there is always FINE PRINT
