Last post before I leave for Alaska. Everyone have a super great week while we are gone.

May's ATC challenge and Class over at Cropstop

This month it is all about shimmer. You can't see it very well but the entire background is made with glimmer mist so it has this super shine and sparkle to it. I added tons of flowers and some jewels to the card as well. A little splash of red for her rose and there you have it.

What my week looked like

My week last week started out on Sunday at 7 a.m. up getting ready for my trip. Off to the airport where I waited for my flight. NO SEAT? what? what do you mean I don't have a seat I have had these tickets for three weeks. crap!
Finally a nice young man came up to the stand and I snuck him my boarding pass and he gave me a window seat...thank you nice young man
Arrived into the big city at 2:30 waited on a peer at hotel pickup.... Wait I used to live in the big city so when did they get TWO airports?????? yes TWO...... one for most airlines and one for usair. So, I had to wait over a half an hourr for one peer to catch a shuttle and find me at the big Northwest...errr I mean DELTA now...speaking of which imagine how stupid I felt looking for the Northwest counter when it doesn't exist.
So, we are on the shuttle bus heading over to the hotel, saying our howdy doos.... meeting everyone.etc etc.... Now only one person I have met before so thank you ( you know the one person if you pop on here)
We get to the hotel and realize there is NO WHERE to eat except for the hotel and no cars....not a problem..... My one peer I knew and I headed down to the bar for burgers and my phone rings........ a new stranger friend that I had reached out to before our trip called her plane finally landed....woo hoo get over here and join us for dinner.
Now this stranger friend and I could pass for best friends we hit it off that well....like we have known each other for YEARS.......
We buddied up with my peer that I knew and was thee threesome of the group...that was until later that night.....
Where even more stranger friends we met as we were outside studying up on our materials....so now we all hung out
Next day up at 6 am..... to go to breakfast and do some studying for our presentations....
then meetings until 5 .... off we go to dinner and back to our studying each night from 7 until 11 p.m. then we would go back to our rooms grab a shower, sleep, and back up at 5 a.m. for breakfast and to do the whole thing over again.
Our last day was hilarious...I have never had so much fun at a meeting........ done at 5 p.m. off to catch the shuttle to the airport....only to find....NO NWA again...so Delta counter ack ack ackkk they have some minor flaws to fix to make check in easier.

Through the security to find MASKS.... MASKS everywhere...what? what is going on oh yea on the two minute phone call I took each night rick did mention something about a pig flu...that is how remote we were....

Four of us stranger friends had our last supper together as we passed around our home numbers our email addresses etc.
You know I am exhausted but it was the best type of exhausted you could ever have...
I finally land at midnight Thursday night and didn't wake up until after noon on Friday. Got up read my email, did a post and then back to bed until after five p.m. and of course I was right back in bed last night at 8 p.m.
Today I am caught up on my sleep........ Folks I tell you.... I had the toughest time, worried about my presentations, but I had the best time ever!!!!! AND I did really well. I truly missed that wonderful man of mine for a week but we both roughed it out and got through it.
And the best of the week..... other than coming home to my Rick.....
Was meeting 19 new stranger friends from my group.

Back!!!

I arrived home late last night around one a.m. and I am exhausted. Today I woke up around noon stayed up for an hour went right back to bed and just now woke up about five p.m. I think my lack of sleep is finally cured. WOW... what a fun week, tons of new people I met and made many more life long friends. Like that song....... I had the time of my life. lol
New art is going to be made tomorrow and I will post later.

Movie Review of Grey Gardens

Last night I was able to finally watch the movie Grey Gardens on HBO. This movie had Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange both did a fantastic job of acting in this movie. I had heard about Grey Gardens as it was on Broadway so I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the movie or not.
I did and I would recommend the movie to anyone. Currently it is on HBO on demand for free!
What is amazing is the truth behind this movie. I am trying to locate the original documentary from 1975 to watch. Just seeing how two women from such wealth could fall to such poverty was wow, words escape me.
It was just a good movie....... so watch it when you can.

I will be gone for a week starting tomorrow. Detroit here I come!!!!! Don't worry I will return on Friday...lol
Just need to go for a week to do some training. While I am gone make sure to keep darling hubby company. I think this may be the longest we have been apart.... not to worry because as soon as I get back six days later we head out for Alaska.

Well, today was the big part for Rick's Dad and to be honest it went very well. His Dad had his family ( the elders) and the neighbors here.

Several years ago I found these Cole Hann slippers and just about died for them. Died because Rick found out I paid 89.99 for a pair of freaking slippers...lol

But I love Cole Hann so here you go T foot wars is back on.

So, I see Grey Gardens and come to find out it is just trailers for it.... shoot. So, instead we watched the vegas show with Ashten Kutcher and Cameron Diaz...too cute.

Saturday night

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be gone tonight. Rick and I are going to put the last finishing touches on the birthday party for tomorrow. There is still food to cook, decorations to finish and a great movie on T.V.
Hbo has grey gardens on demand so I have talked Rick into watching Grey Gardens with me.

A good mail day

Over at My favorite things they had buy any four stamp sets for only 50.00 bucks. Now most of their stamp sets are 15.95 and 17.95 so a great day anyway you look at it with free shipping too.
So, I ordered four but one was back ordered so I have three of the four here. I love these stamp sets and can't wait to use them

then earlier today Rick and I had to pick up 45 balloons and it took them almost an hour to fill them up so we ran over to acmoore and I found these cute ATC stamps for only a buck each. So, I bought these and a pack of glossy paper for 16.99 now if anyone can give me ideas where to find cheaper glossy paper I am all for it. I also had to buy three canvas boards because I need to do three canvases before leaving for Cananda.

My goodies from cropstop

okay so I took these pictures in the bathroom..lol I didn't have time to pull out the fancy smancy camera or photo box rick made for me....
Rick and I have this good thing going on....it is called mad money. Each month we both add some made money to our paypal accounts. Of course he buys fishing stuff and I buy art stuff. Tim Holtz came out with an entire new line of alcohol inks and of course reinkers for his distress pads. I have ordered every single reinker and package of alcohol inks this is just a picture of the first shipment. Haylie jo has all of them so head over for a great deal.

When you find someone like this

you never leave them...... and no I am not talking about Rick during this entire post...lol
About a year ago I found an online store here and have been a devoted loyal shopper ever since. Then out of the blue I was asked to be a guest designer wow, are you serious? Yes was my answer so I did that for TWO months. Then I get a phone call saying hey how would you like to have your own forum for ATC's? Again, are you serious? you must be kidding right??????
No says Haylie Jo I am serious. Well, yes of course I would.
Since then the rest is history shall I say. But that isn't the reason for this post this is.....
I place an order and it shows up at my door just a few days later and depending on what I order shipping is usally free...now I ask you in today's way of doing business how many places do you shop where shipping is free????? And if the items I don't order have free shipping well, if you place an order of 35.00 bucks your shipping is free ( usa). Seriously, where?
Most places charge 8.95 for shipping that's two ink pads for me or almost two rubber stamps.
